The Renfrew Community Pool for the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation began as a 25-year Facililty Master Plan and resulted in an exciting expansion to this popular East Vancouver pool.
Initially focusing on code, accessibility, tank and mechanical system upgrades, effective use of structural budgets allowed the project to go forward with a leisure expansion and new hot pool. These extensions were accommodated in a cantilevered solarium, which offers impressive views of the Renfrew Park Ravine and the North Shore Mountains, and introduces natural light.
Following a successful feasibility study in 2008, construction is now underway on the next phase of the pool’s revitalization, which includes new men’s, women’s, family and staff change rooms, as well as upgrades to the facility’s entrance and front facade.
