BCA has been closely involved with the District of Lake Country’s efforts to refresh their parks and recreation experience since 2005.

The showpiece of these efforts is the Swalwell Park Pavilion and Washroom Building. The facility is a winner of a 2009 AIBC Lieutenant-Governor Awards medal and a 2008 Masonry Institute Award of Excellence.

This building is a focal point in the park and an important community gathering place, featuring a large covered area and concession. The washroom and pavilion were designed with sustainable solutions in mind, both in terms of durability and the environment.

The Swalwell Park Building was featured in the August 2009 edition of Canadian Architect magazine.
